i think whether I want to or not - Parker is a character in my story - not always the main character -- but always lurking.. I'm rethinking forgiveness again - not the healing or the necessity of it - just how to describe the concept.
I just received a letter from a student at Simon Fraser university forwarded by a professor. In it he describes how my example of "letting go" has helped him navigate the criminal justice system and choose the restorative justice approach and I am thankful for that...
But now that I have Parker in my life - I'm wondering what does forgiveness look like with him in the room.
"Letting go" -- to me feels different .
Before when I chose too forgive as to me always contained a hidden second step of "let God> the choice of putting it in a better place not just surrendering it or accepting a lesser plan. There is a sense of "letting go" of my natural impulse of negativity and choosing something better..
How does this work with Parker -- I'm wondering if forgiving Parker might mean letting go - but but it needs more than letting go - acceptance of loss.
Now I wonder if I might want to use the a gesture of "over riding" the illness rather than letting go -- which has the feeling of surrender to it.. And how does God step in to overcome something so glaringly physical.
