"Yes, Wilma, having read your book, I really can't understand why the 'retrial' is needed. But again, I know so little about the Judicial System. I think I can understand your ambivalent feelings. I do feel exhausted for you all.
But, you are all a Force to be reckoned with. I am smiling when I say this. After a set back you all 'recalculate' like our GPS and choose a strategy and meet the challenge.
Once again we pray you will all have the energy you need and the wisdom you need. We pray you will again be comforted by our loving Lord and Shepherd and by those who surround you."
"Dear Wilma - After the first day of the retrial, I wonder whether or not I should write you a letter and ask you where in the court room you sat? :)"
So right - I don't know. I might have to recalculate many things when we actually arrive in that place. :)
From a friend: "I wish the world was healthy. I am soooo sorry it's sinfulness keeps creating pain. But God's promises are real. I trust Him and thank Him......one minute to one day at a time.... Depending on the situation."
From someone who occasionally attended the court case with us. "Yes I was very shocked too when I heard the news... Could not believe it.. Heard that Defence lawyer "Saul" speak on CJOB, and he said he was shocked. He said that he thought they would release him... I got the feeling he is not looking forward to a new trial...because I am sure he knows they can not come up with anything new and different. What a shame to have all this rehashed again....My thoughts and prayers are with you....Love,..My thoughts and prayers are with you."
From another friend: "To feel your heart-ache, confusion and tears via your words is something I do not take lightly. I do not claim to understand the law. And frankly to be quite honest, your case is just too complex for my personal understanding. It appals me that it's come to this. I've read your book and I had to read a few chapters over to understand it. But I did try my hardest to understand and at the end of the day, I stand beside you -- I remain convinced - I remain supportive. The law frustrates me to no end (and often I really don't think it's my ignorance.)
As always, I have no words. Nothing I could say, you haven't heard before -- from minds who are much wiser and comforting than my own. Just know how much you are adored and treasured." Isa. 43
And then from a master of quotes: I got this perfect quote.
"You cannot step into the same river twice..." — Heraclitus of Ephesus (Ἡράκλειτος, Herakleitos; c. 535 BC – 475 BC)
Thank you so much for your words - all of them, here there and everywhere. I exist on them.
