OMG...I just read a paragraph which will stay with me for the rest of my life - I am sure of it....the part where you describe what it felt like ...."the hull of ships carrying the slaves across the ocean...Auschwitz, jungles of Rwanda..." that paragraph. I had to stop and call Beau and read it to him. Wilma - it's incredible. I have no combination of words could accurately describe what I'm feeling as I read your words....I feel like I am there (not to undermine your experience whatsoever...) I cried on the bus yesterday.....I love you. - Veronica Gagnon

Rarely can a book or movie bring me to actual tears. I am only a third of the way in and have now been moved to tears 3 times. Wilma Derksen's latest book, "This Mortal Coil" leaves me speechless. The jury selection alone frustrates me. It is all so beautifully written. I am in awe of the author who shares her family's story...it is a story of deep, immeasurable pain and yet there is twists and turns of beauty and (dark) humor throughout. I may be biaised, but it is likely to be one of the top 5 books I have ever read. It is a journey moreso than just a story...

"I so wish you would get it printed Wilma. There's so much good here that needs to be highlighted, copied and shared! And those who are unable to read via kindle or kobo - they are missing a wonderful piece of art!"
