My Life Now - 2

My beautiful elephant

Picture
   This is my beautiful elephant.
He's a bit bug eyed. His trunk might be a bit too long - and he has a hollow back carved out perfectly for a candle. I especially love his pink - gray color  - and those huge Dumbo ears.
My son just finished filming a video and showed it in church yesterday, on the importance of play in which he highlights his own children - our grandchildren - spending time on a play structure - swinging, sliding, twirling and running across the grass fields.
       Play - is a masterpiece.
Recent research has shown that people of all ages benefit from unstructured play time as a respite from the grind of daily life. According to research, play can relieve stress, boost creativity, improve brain function, and improve our relationships with other people by fostering trust with others.
       It can make us laugh.
This winter we transformed our car garage into a studio - a room to play.
So far we've held a class for homeschoolers,  held  a series of classes on King David, and entertained a family from Ontario. Oh - yes and we made these elephants with my sister and her husband from BC.
There is simply nothing better than a glass of wine - good conversations - and forming a soft ball of mud into a glass elephant with bug eyes.
          Beautiful.

“The creation of something new is not accomplished by the intellect but by the play instinct.” -Carl Jung

Elephants are very versatile. They can also serve as ice cream bowls.
